Description

This 1964 Ford Fairlane is a two-door hardtop that is powered by a 289ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and is finished and white over blue vinyl. The car was previously sold on BaT in April 2022 and was acquired by the selling dealer later that year. Equipment includes power steering, a dual exhaust system, 14″ steel wheels with polished covers, a center console, and an AM radio. This Fairlane is now offered with a Colorado title.

The car is finished in white, and the right door is a different shade than the other panels. Details include bright side spears with black insets as well as a polished grille, taillight panel, and pillar accents. A door lock cylinder was replaced prior to the seller’s acquisition. Corrosion is noted in the trunk, on the left corner of the rear windows, and on the underside of the doors. Exterior blemishes are shown in the gallery below.

Steel 14″ wheels are fitted with polished Sports Coupe-style covers and wear 195/75 all-season whitewall tires. The car features power steering, while braking is provided by unassisted drums all around.

The interior is upholstered in two-tone blue vinyl and features metal trim on the dashboard, door panels, and center console. Amenities include a heater, a push-button AM radio, and front lap belts.

A matching steering wheel with a horn ring frames a 120-mph speedometer and warning lights as well as coolant temperature and fuel gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 55k miles, approximately 1k of which have been added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.

The 289ci V8 is fed by a two-barrel carburetor topped with a red air cleaner and wears 289 Special decals on its valve covers. Underhood items include a generator and a period-style windshield washer fluid bag. The power steering pump is noted to leak.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a three-speed Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission. An aftermarket dual exhaust system has been fitted.

Decoding the data plate reveals the following information:

  • Body: 65B – Two-door sports coupe
  • Color: M – Wimbledon White paint
  • Trim: 82 – Blue interior
  • Date: 20L – November 20 build date
  • DSO: 74 – Seattle ordering district
  • Axle: 1 – 3.00:1 axle ratio
  • Transmission: 4 – Cruise-O-Matic

The Colorado title carries “totaled” and “rebuilt from salvage” brands.
