1966 Ford Mustang GT Convertible

This 1966 Ford Mustang GT convertible is finished in orange over orange and beige vinyl upholstery and is powered by a 289ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a white soft top, rocker panel stripes, dual side mirrors, 14″ styled wheels, power steering, front disc brakes, a cabin heater, a push-button AM stereo, aftermarket speakers, and a trunk-mounted CD player. This Mustang convertible was acquired by the selling dealer in 2023 and is now offered with a spare set of wheels and a clean Colorado title.

The car left the factory in Emberglow (V) and was refinished under previous ownership. Additional exterior details include a white power-operated soft top, white rocker panel stripes, fog lights integrated into the grille bar, chrome bumpers, a fender-mounted antenna, 289 and GT badging on the front fenders, and dual exhaust outlets that exit through the rear valance. Styled 14″ steel wheels are mounted with 205/70 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. The car is equipped with power steering and stopping power is provided by front disc and rear drum brakes.

The interior is trimmed in orange and beige Interior Decor Group-style vinyl upholstery featuring running horse-embossed backrests. The trunk is lined with a plaid cover, and additional appointments include a cabin heater, hand-crank windows, Mustang-logo carpeted floor mats, a push-button AM stereo, aftermarket speakers, and a trunk-mounted CD player. The seller notes rust on the underside of the right door.

The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 140-mph speedometer flanked by four auxiliary gauges as well as a column-mounted Rally-Pac-style tachometer and clock. The five-digit odometer shows 62k miles, approximately 100 of which were added by the selling dealer.

The 289ci V8 features a four-barrel carburetor and was factory rated at 225 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque when new.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a C-4 three-speed automatic transmission and a 3.00:1 ratio rear end. Additional underside photos are provided in the gallery below.
